Shorter Giuliani: Bush is Lincoln.

Yes, he made that comparison. No, he wasn't dressed in drag at the time.

No, he also wasn't hanging out with mobbed up pal Bernie Kerik or third wife/New York's first mistress either as far as I can tell.

Yes, he's an idiot.

Anyone who thinks Rudy is a serious candidate needs to be shown that photo of him in drag. One look at that photo and the christofascists will have their heads blow off ala Scanners.

Read it Paddy. I was going to link and forgot. Glad you took care of it.

Poor little bitch who lives on right-wing welfare and has an 8,000 square foot home in San Diego....

B-O-O-H-O-O

"right wing welfare". i like the sound of that! just like when you say "tax cuts for paris hilton".

someone needs to compile Cliff Schecter's Republican Talking Point Thesaurus. It'd be Frank Luntz's worst nightmare!

acutally, that'd be a nice little addendum for your book!

Thanks Jambon...I don't get why Democrats don't seem to understand the importance of language for framing purposes.

It's simple, it's fun, you get to mock them and you can make a political point all with one phrase...God some of our consultants are so stupid..

I swear to God, Cliff, you're the only one who does!

BTW, I sure would love to see you up against Dangerstein on one of the gasbag shows...

Part of the problem is that our version of Luntz is Lakoff. He's obsessed with making all his language fit in with his "nurturing parent" theory of the left. That might fly out in Berkley, but not so much in the rest of the country.

who the hell writes the talking points for us anyway?

I hope he's not referring to the theatre..... Is that what he meant?

If so, what a mean little imp.

For a guy who watches planes hitting towers in the same city he was in charge of protecting to make those kinds of claims is just plain bad taste. I'm not a Bush supporter, but I'm not for seeing that kind of retaliation either.

Shame on him.

Thanks Dave. I think there are a few others who get the importance of language (I actually think Howard Dean is quite good at it--I remember during his run in 2004 when he would always say Bush wanted to cut taxes for "Kenny Lay and the boys" and I would always just say, YES, why don't we get the power of saying it like that--and some of our radio folks get it now and again, but the big-name consultants and think tank people have their heads up their asses).

Jambon - I must admit to not having read any of Lakeoff's books, but from what I have heard and you said, I would be suspicious.

Gimmeabreak - You are exactly correct. Rudy is done. The three wives. The dressing in drag for those events. The living with a gay couple during a divorce. It ain't playing in the Carolinas...

Luntz has been getting way too much air time lately. And even the Dem. hosts are treating him like a guru.

Let me "frame" my language as precisely as I can for you, Luntz: @$%@!!^&*

As far as Rudy goes, if he's considered to be a serious candidate after this first rush of name-recognition polls, then there's even more hypocrisy than I thought. Who's his running mate gonna be, Katherine Harris?

I really think Rudy, McCain, and Romney aren't going to win this thing. Too much baggage. Chuck Hagel has the top Senate voting record in line with the President. Seriously. He is uber conservative, but his anti war apostacy has made him verbotten. Brownback now is heading the same way, plus he is really nuts.

Somebody is going to get drafted to run. Although, I don't know about Rudy. Marrying a cousin is probably not that unusual in some parts of the country.

I did some research on John Wilkes Booth.

1) southern spy
2) didn't like black people
3) killed people

Bush is like whom?

Hehehe, yep. The difference is, roaches would probably have enough brains to find their way through.
