LaTourette Struggles in Fundraising

Ohio Republican Congressman Steve LaTourette is struggling in fundraising for what may become a hotly contested race in 2008. Democrats surely will want to put up a strong challenge this year amid reports that LaTourette had an extra-marital affair with his former chief of staff who was lobbying him. But for those interested in the money totals, LaTourette raised $79,700 and spent $47,080 this cycle, leaving his campaign with only $172,460 in the bank. A pretty pathetic total given he did not face a close election last cycle.
