Feds tried to cut aid
Limits sought on help for ill workers
Department Of Energy

Federal officials secretly schemed to limit payouts for sick and dying nuclear weapons workers, including thousands from the Rocky Flats plant outside Denver, newly released documents show.

The officials responsible for helping those workers went behind their boss's back, called on White House officials for help and tried to hide their efforts, according to internal e-mails and memos obtained by a congressional committee and posted on its Web site.

There is LITERALLY no one the R's won't screw over with a grin on their faces. (I'd be willing to go to Colorado to check these people's voter registration. No Democrat would do a thing like this.)

Victims of Katrina? "people were so uneducated and so unprepared, they literally couldn't get out of the way of a hurricane.".

Children abducted by pedophiles? "there was an element here that this kid liked about this circumstances"

I'm going to dig into my psychic bag here, and make a prediction on what the head of the DOE will be saying when confronted with this....

"Well, the price of electricity is so high, we figured it was just a benefit, you know, like sick time, erm, vacation days!! Plus, you NEVER have to buy light bulbs again!"

I don't know how large a fan the Republican crooks have, but it has to get clogged up at some point with all the crap that has been making direct hits since the Katrina disaster.

What is so hypocritical, people on the right keep saying that all these problems are something that individuals should take responsibility and deal with. They get all indignant when the Bush government is blamed and say that they should blame only themselves for their predicament and their inability to deal with it. Yet, they will turn around and blame everyone else for their problems. Is everyone on the right this egocentric and insecure?

Paddy thank you for posting that! I'd copied an excerpt in comments the other day, and we'd discussed it, and I thought that would be it.

Thank you for taking me up on this one!!!!
