Go check out my main man Stark and his CPAC pictures (they are hysterical, indeed, if only these idiots knew who they were snapping pictures with--and just wait until you see in the coming days what he got on tape at the Klanbake, I mean convention).

Then go read Taylor on Coulter. She gets it right as usual.

Hey, Cliff. I was over at Mike's site earlier checking out the pics (Dinesh is soooooo cute1) and making hay with some of the trolls.

I was also asking after your welfare there. I see you made it out alive...

Also check out the pics Josh has of Romney with Coulter (via link from Atrios who says "some pictures Mitt Romney will find more uncomfortable than his underwear on a hot August afternoon"

Awwww, we should make a scrapbook with all of these. I'm getting all misty just thinking about it. What fun! We'll line the cover in yellow ribbon, or rather, yellow ribbon car magnets! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Taylor's so right. They salivate over Coulter's loathsome spew the way Cheney drools over sick Iran war plans. The Republics are as gleeful over this as Bush is when he pronounces a word right.

I'm running out of metaphors (or is it similes) the way the National Black Republican Association ran out of any CPAC interest in them whatsoever.

I just saw this on C&L and laughed my ass off:

(Allahpundit speaking about an email from Charles Johnson)

I was eating dinner when Charles sent me the link to his post, and when I saw the picture I literally dropped the fork and scrambled to the phone to call MM’s husband. My hands were still shaking 15 minutes later. I know some people will read that and think I’m exaggerating to claim the mantle of victim hood on her behalf, but I swear to you I’m not…

Well, at least it's good to know that such "big" names are so ascared of Mike Stark, lol.

I cracked up when I saw the picture of Michele Malkin. She looked just like the donkey in the picture on the book...big ol' horse teeth.

Since this is an open thread, here's some Saturday Cartoons.

There's a couple of good McCain ones you might enjoy, Cliff.

Hey guys,

Never made CPAC. Let me just say I am not trying to be cryptic, but private. There was a family situation, not among my immediate family here in DC.

Thankfully, it is nothing too serious, and everyone is going to be fine. But I was on the phone with relatives for 2 hours so CPAC didn't happen. Oh well, as I always say family comes first.

And as you see, Mike did a helluva job without me. Next time my friends. Next time.

Cliff

I'm glad to hear everything is ok with your family. Now you can spend more time playing with that baby boy of yours. I'll bet he's getting cuter by the day. 4 months old is one of my favorite times with babies, they just can't stop smiling at that age. It cracks me up. :-D

Here's the response from Elizabeth Edwards to Coulter's remarks.

When Miss Coulter spoke about John at the conservative convention in Washington yesterday, she used a word that she intended as a nasty and derogatory suggestion. John and I have long ago shrugged off the vile words of this person. When she made a joke about the exact moment of death of Charlie Dean (Howard's brother and a schoolmate of mine), and when she attacked the courageous 9-11 widows, she told you all you need to know about what she is made of: her compassion -- or lack thereof. Now we need to find out about you.

Although her words did not hurt us, they may have hurt some in the gay community. We are all sick and tired of anyone supporting or applauding or introducing hate words into the national dialogue, tired of people thinking that words that cause others pain are fair game. And we are sick and tired of people like Miss Coulter thinking that her use of loaded words about the homosexual community in this country is remotely humorous or appropriate.

John gave a graduation speech at NC State several years ago, and in it he said that none of us can stand by when words of bigotry and division are used. It is only when the rest of us stand up and say that this is not acceptable that we drum out the hate-mongers from amongst us. The first reaction in the room at the conservative convention yesterday was a gasp -- a horrified gasp, even -- but it did not last. In a few seconds, those who were not horrified started clapping and drowned out the gasps.

Now it is our turn to drown out the hate. Find a way -- whether it is contribution here that sends a message to Miss Coulter and those who applauded her (which, of course, I prefer) or whether it is a statement on this blog or others or all of the above -- but please find a way not to sit silent in acceptance. It doesn't change until we say we will not be silent when this happens.

Classy lady that Elizabeth.

Thanks mary ellen. Dougie is a ton of fun right now. He is 4.5 months. He is rolling all over the place. Smiling a lot. Starting to figure out a whole lot of things.

I know I am supposed to be a nasty, compassionless Republican slayer. But psst...don't tell anyone, I find my own son absolutely adorable :)
