Do you know how you feel about Mary Matalin or Michele Malkin or Ann Coulter? Multiply that by 1,000 and that's how I feel about Bill Donahue.
This guy is the biggest whack job in town and he is nothing more than a shill for the Republican party. I know guys like this. In fact, I went on a blog once, it was/is a blog written by "Catholics" (I have to wonder after reading it), and they were discussing stem cell research. Well, you know what side they were on regarding this...the whole "respect for life" thing.
Now, I'm not exactly a progressive Catholic, I pretty much stick to most of the rules, but I do doubt many of the decisions made by the church. These are decisions made by man, not God. I don't believe that God hates gays. I do believe that gays should have the right to marriage. There are many things I question in some of their interpretations of the Bible. When I questioned this group about their stance on stem cell research, I asked them if, since they feel these stem cells are life (human beings) why don't they adopt them so they can't be used for research? I asked them (very politely, mind you) how many "snowflake babies" had they each adopted, so these "human beings" don't end up thrown in the trash. I was called a heretic for questioning the church, told I was going to hell and kicked off their blog. But, just to show what good "Catholics" they are, they finished their comments with "God Bless". I'm not kidding!
Bill Donahue is the same as they are. They have no authority to speak for the Catholic Church, yet they feel it is their God given right to judge others. These people, like Bill Donahue are the biggest sinners of all. They think they can speak for God.
I wonder if Bill Donahue would be so quick to spew his anti-semetic hatred towards Jesus, Himself...since He was a Jew? I wonder how he will answer to God in his final judgement for the statements he's made?

At least you waited to later years to have a prob with them. Can you belive I had a run in with them before I ever made what they thought what a first communion was supposed to be? In those days, we went to school down the bayou and on Fridays, we had to walk next door to go to church. we had those religion classes before school started in the class rooms.
One day, while I was there at church, I went up and received communion and was later confronted by a girl in my class for going without ever making the so called first. I was told how I would go to hell and all the other things to be expected from the unknowing.
It was then that the teacher over heard what was said and asked me if it was true. She tried to tell me how wrong it was. What pursued was the tongue lashing of a life time for both the girl and the teacher. At that young age, I took the teacher to school.
The look on her face when I asked her who was she to question the word of a future man that would tell her what to do was etched into my mind forever! I have been to many churches since and have blown the minds of many so called christians. They don't understand that holding onto bondage is not in the best interest of them or anyone that they may come in contact with.
Not going to church will not send you to hell. Sometimes, churches may very well lead you that way. Just saying....

Did it work itself out Mary Ellen? I woke up to get ready for work and see you and Todd have been very busy troll slaying. I wish I could be around long enough to catch up with all the comments. I'll just have to do that when I get off in the morning. I did take a quick look and saw that he now does not approve of your sources! HAHA!!
I just updated it to the new blogger yesterday. Seems like everyone that does so goes through this time to get sorted out. I'm off to work now, enjoy the troll slaying.
