Iraq War Vet Files Papers to Recall McCain

I've just heard from a source that there is an effort in place to recall John McCain in Arizona. The papers have been filed by an Iraq war veteran in Phoenix. His name is Leonard Clark and he refers to himself as "that damn liberal."

I also hear he is not just messing around, but deadly serious about getting "his comrades" safely out of a war that is "John McCain's attempt to fight Vietnam over again." I will be contacting him and updating you.

Will it go anywhere? We don't know yet. But I am told a signature-gathering effort is now set to begin.

I have been told that this is not possible with US Senators. But think of the pr black eye of an Iraq vet doing it in McCain's home state

This is sweet to hear. Someone, an Iraq veteran yet, who's not afraid to take on McVain.

Even if it's not realistic, what IS realistic is the effort being made and the exposure of that effort.

Not to mention the exposure of McVain's apparent delusional state.

I know he doesn't have the veterans support he would like to believe. I actually took part in the no McCain in 2000 campaign that was done by the vets and the POW/MIA activist. He has a way of pissing people off.

I like you, Donnie. You got spunk.

And unlike Lou Grant of years ago, I like spunk.

Senators cannot be recalled. Only other senators can remove a sitting senator if I recall correctly.

If there were a way we'd already have pursued it in Connecticut as early as November.

Hello everyone. Yes, it is not only possible but a reality in the state of Arizona that a federal official can be recalled under A.R.S. (Arizona Revised Statutes ) 19-121 and 19-122.
Basically, statute 19-121 is a recall statement that state and federal candidates are asked to sign VOLUNTARILY. You'll notice that I put the above word voluntarily in caps because John McCain signed the recall statement pledge (as verified to me by the Arizona Secretary of State)under his own free hand voluntarily.

He has given his word therefore to the people of Arizona that he would abide by our laws and Western tradition of the "recall". If such an event were to occur.
I, when running for the U.S. Senate last year signed one of these recall statements.

Title 19-122 of the Arizona Revised Statutes also states that if a state or federal candidate in Arizona refuses to sign this recall pledge that the Secretary of State will contact the press and let them know.

So, as you all can see this is not some "pipe dream". This recall is a reality based upon Arizona law.
If McCain and his henchman want to throw the recall out based on federal law this will show McCain to be a liar to the people of Arizona and of the United States because he did not keep his word after signing our recall pledge. To confirm this please call the Arizona Secretary of State, even though when I first pointed this out to them they said they had to go dig the record of McCain signing this recall pledge out of "the basement".
Please contact me if you would like to help recall "bloody John" McCain at 602-423-6300 and you can also email me at : leonardclark385@hotmail.com

This is a slight correction, it is 19-221 and 19-222 pertaining to recall in Arizona.

therealliberal - if you are correct then I was wrong re: recall of federal officials. I am certain McCain would contest his 'voluntary' signature in court if it ever got that far... but still, wouldn't it be sweet if it did?

also... I am not sure 'deadly serious' is a good phrase to use... someone could choose to interpret it in the wrong way. How about 'damn serious'?

This is a foolish attempt by some pretty politically naive folks.

There are better ways to fight John McCain.

Note that there was a Recall McCain campaign in 2001 -- by conservatives. That didn't work either.

However, if Clark somehow does the impossible and manages to do the legwork on this (which would require an influx of at least a half million dollars, reasonably speaking), all he'd be doing would be setting up some right-winger to challenge McCain in a simple plurality-wins vote.

Waste of time and energy, and an embarrassment to the left. Let's not bother.

I am old and house bound, but if this is going forward, I will send what little money I can scrape up....Just post an address, because I can only send a check.
