President Bush's Reaction to VA Tech

It's not compassion for the now over 30 victims of this tragedy. Or some other message of unity. It's restating his belief in "the right to bear arms."

Yup, that's what parents of the dead and injured want to hear right now. They want to make sure you still have your NRA cred.

Are these people human?

My god when I first saw your post before checking the link I thought you might have been overreacting. I am sorry to see how wrong I was. Jesus, will we ever know a government we trust to say the appropriate thing in times like this? He should be told by his keepers to shut up before he's allowed to disgrace us further.

Yes, I long for that day too Kerri. When we have a president we just expect to say the decent thing on a day like today.

Could not believe it myself. He's being completely defensive--as though this is somehow an attack on him--rather than simply sharing the remorse and expressing compassion in some way. Could not have been more insensitive or more poorly timed. His PR minions were not even awake when he said this. Arrggghhh.
