Abstinence Only Doesn't Work

Well, guess the right wing will ask for chastity belts to be handed out in schools now.

WASHINGTON --
Students who took part in sexual abstinence programs were just as likely to have sex as those who did not, according to a study ordered by Congress.

Also, those who attended one of the four abstinence classes that were reviewed reported having similar numbers of sexual partners as those who did not attend the classes. And they first had sex at about the same age as other students _ 14.9 years, according to Mathematica Policy Research Inc.

I mentioned this piece in Comments a couple of days ago. My comment then, and now, is that it's all been a colossal waste of $. I believe I expressed some relief that at least the $ wasn't used for a new war.

I shall now add that this b.s. is a total waste of time and effort as well. Anyone who didn't already know this before the "study" has never been a teenager, known one, lived with one, or seen one.

Rant over.
