AP Headline "Republicans Block Senate Debate on Iraq."

Memo to Democratic consultants, the first tv ad script for 2008 has now been written.

(edit) Apparently, the New York Times agrees with my assessment.

You are so right, BC! I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

Randi Rhodes said something about how "scared" they were. Of what?

Apparently they should be scared of not being re-elected.

I am going to go into further analysis of this vote tomorrow, and what it means for all the players and broader politics. But thanks for posting BC...

My analysis.... We are emboldening the enemy repukes by not forcing them to STFU.

I totally believed what I saw on TV.

It was a seminal moment in history and do not think for one minute that people don't know and won't remember.

The Repigs showed exactly "who" and "waht" they are. Notice that McCain didn't vote? He always chickens out when the chips are down.

This is going to be a touch two years but I do recognize that we won't be able to stop the carnage...the upside of this whole mess is that Bush is looking worse by the minute and Congress has now stepped into the mud pile.

This is NOT going to be popular.

I guess it's like raising a toddler - sometimes you simply need to let them make mistakes. And boy did these idiots dig themselves a HUGE one!

Toddlers have innocence on their side.

And they're not duplicitous.

But other than that? Yeah.

It will only be unpopular if the American people know about it. It's up to us, and the Democrats, to make sure that everyone knows about it

Hey, CliffDog,

Little do you know that Paddy and I have started scheming behind the scenes.

Watch out. I'm reallllly good at editing photos. You may end up resembling...

(Jaws theme)

...Joe LIEberman. Bwahahahaa!

...and speaking of Lieberman.
I saw/heard him speak on Cspan yesterday but had to stop when I realized his whine was making my ears bleed.

Obviously the RePIGS have trotted out the old "why do you hate the troops" phrase.

I believe that the RePIGS will pay for this in the 2008 elections. I also believe that nothing is going to change until ALL the bums are tossed.

Democrats can attempt to do many things, but since there is no bipartisanship (except for Lieberman who is half man/half android) in either the House or the Senate and the Dems don't have enough of a majority to overcome the 60 votes, I am very afraid that this is what we are stuck with.

I've been watching all of this very closely, but I do recognize that although the Dems have the House and the Senate, Bush still can make his Pig toady boys jump when he barks and the Dems can't stop it. The majority is simply not enough by the numbers.

I would ask that you please not blame the Dems for not being able to run roughshod over the Senate. I believe they are trying to do the right thing, and it's important that everyone watch and observe just WHO is obstructing the Iraq debate.

It is now February 6th - the US has already lost 17 (count 'em 17!) soldier this month. No matter how you look at it, it sux and it is not going to get any better.

It is vitally important that the Indies and the Dems start supporting their anti-war candidates now! The numbers must be overwhelming to stop this carnage, because obviously the RePIGS just simply don't want to do the right thing. The ONLY way to stop this, is to get the majority and get it big.
