Most of my adult life has been spent acting/writing for TV and stage. I was invited a few years ago to be an "artist in residence" (I have no teaching credential) at a performing arts/technology magnet high school. They wanted me to co-teach theatre arts from the perspective of someone from the industry. As a result, I also direct/write several shows per year there.
I also created and continue to direct an improv comedy troupe, direct scene study with the Theatre Director/teacher there, and participate heavily in all theatre classes.
And...I work with college age students and adults from time to time.
For the past couple of years, because of my work at the school, I've written and directed a fundraising event hosted by Dick Van Dyke, this big, live stage production that makes $$ for high school singers, choirs, even barbershop quartets (his love). I was asked to come in and "make it funnier", which, considering who I was writing for, was the biggest honor of my life.

Bill Maher's off until the end of August. It's too early for din-din. This will have to do until something better comes along.
Laffy, I take it you are a teacher of some sort?

That's the gist of it.
Loquaciously,
Laffy
Well THAT is one of the better life tales I've heard in awhile. I'm happy for you that you get to do what you love and share it with others!
I'm especially happy to hear about the fund-raisers for band, chorus, etc. Its near and dear to my heart.
It's even nicer to hear a response like the one you just gave.
Working with teens is more rewarding than most of my work in the industry, and I love being able to do what I can for/with them.
Plus they are a constant source of insane fun.
