Some Headlines Are More Fun Than Others
After waiting eight years for a second chance at the Republican presidential nomination, McCain and his famed Straight Talk Express - the moniker given his campaign bus - have officially hit the ditch.

"McCain is sinking," says Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia.

But the growing ambivalence toward McCain has developed for reasons that go beyond his unpopular stands on two hot-button issues [Iraq and immigration], experts say.

Now, however, McCain finds himself inextricably linked with an unpopular president and running as the de facto establishment Republican.

McCain was embarrassed earlier this week with the leak of an internal campaign memo, written by senior media adviser Mark McKinnon, which hinted at the candidate's weakness. The longtime McCain supporter informed colleagues he would quit McCain's campaign if Barack Obama won the Democratic nomination, saying the Democrat had a better chance of changing the country.

McCain's best hope to win the Republican nomination may now hinge on his opponents blundering into an unexpected scandal.

Oh, good, McCain's toast. Now we just have to hope more pictures of Rudy in drag pop up and Thompson gets into some scandal with one of his bimbos. Come on guys, you can do it!
