The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. All times are Iraq local times.

BAGHDAD

-Around 8 a.m., a suicide truck (Hino) driver led his car near a petrol station, but police at the neighborhood checkpoint exploded the truck with the suicide driver inside. The driver was killed in the explosion. No other casualties were recorded.

-Around 9 a.m., a roadside bomb exploded in the Amiriya neighborhood, targeting civilians. Among the injured civilians was the son of Iraqi vice president Tariq al-Hashimi...

So it goes, a page and a half of violence.
