How Dumb Can Rudy Get?

Our friend Paddy put a post up earlier about how Rudy Giuliani has a case of the stupids, in that he hides behind being Mayor of New York on 9/11, and yet still doesn't seem to understand who the Sunnis and Shia are, what the difference is, which group's extremist formed into Al Qaeda, etc. and so forth.

Well it seems Steve has caught Rudy lacking a basic understanding of our healthcare system:

“I don’t like mandates,” Giuliani says. “I don’t like mandating health care. I don’t like it because it erodes what makes health care work in this country — the free market, the profit motive. A mandate takes choice away from people. We’ve got to let people make choices. We’ve got to let them take the risk–do they want to be covered? Do they want health insurance? Because ultimately, if they don’t, well, then, they may not be taken care of. I suppose that’s difficult.” He lets the idea sink in, though it seems to bother his audience not at all. “The minute you start mandating, you always end up with more expensive government programs.”
Seriously, does this freakin make sense to anyone? Does this moron read the paper in the morning before he decides who he wants his next wife to be?

Idiot.

Okay, Rudy used to make more sense in the past. I didn't necessarily agree with the guy all the time, but he made sense.

Maybe he should just give it up now.

S-Q, maybe if he showed more leg, he'd raise his poll numbers.

On second thought...

He's pathetic. He and every other Republic candidate. Really pathetic.

Just another example that these rich OLD white guys are losing their marbles. I mean, reeelly, don't you think his advisors would bone him up on the issues that matter to ordinary Americans, you know, the ones who vote? Milk, bread and healthcare - pretty downhome issues imo. Seems that both he and McCain are waaay too old and out of touch to even manage a mickey D let alone the whole country.

Just because you have insurance does not mean you will get care. So why bother to pay the middle man? Until that mandate comes down, actually you get BETTER care without insurance. Here's why.... your insurance company has a price on your head. You don't when you don't have any. Doctors treat via insurance companies payment schedules. People without insurance get the ole timey doctoring when nothing is too much.
So who wants to pay a middle man for nothing (* once you get sick, you get nothing- big hint)
