Barbara Cubin Throwing In The Towel Against Gary Trauner
The Wyoming Congressional race was one of the closest in the country in 2006, when Netroots candidate Gary Trauner nearly overtook Barbara Cubin. Trauner held her to 48 percent and lost by less than 2,000 votes. However, Cubin just filed her 1st quarter FEC report showing she raised a paltry $18,436 and only has $8,882 in the bank, with $15,855. Trauner is in much better shape than Cubin with $14,765 in the bank, no debts, and a 2008 campaign start with much higher name recognition.
Update: Cubin did not report a single itemized contribution from an individual, and only reported $671 in individual contributions.
Update From Cliff: In her defense, she had trouble fundraising in between hour-long benders slapping around physically disabled persons wherever she could find them.
