Now Playing The Role Of Scaremonger In Chief

It's Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!

Giuliani warns of 'new 9/11' if Dems win

MANCHESTER, N.H. —- Rudy Giuliani said if a Democrat is elected president in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001.

But if a Republican is elected, he said, especially if it is him, terrorist attacks can be anticipated and stopped.

While I'm not America's Mayor, here is my list of what will make America safer.

  1. Capturing or killing Osama Bin Laden
  2. Making sure that rogue states like Iran don't get nuclear materials and working to isolate North Korea so they give up their nuclear program.
  3. Making sure our Army is the best trained and best equipped, so they can go anywhere at a moment's notice.
The interesting thing about that list, is that the current Republican in the White House has done none of those three things. And oh yeah, 9/11 happened on his watch. You might have missed his election, Rudy. Maybe you were to busy cheating on your wife and alienating your children at the time.

this is just a great comment

Giulani re “safe” — that’s straight from the Bush-Cheney playbook. Which is unlikely to work again (one hopes).

Define “safe.” Iraq War has clearly emboldened the jihadists and is consuming American kids and capital at a fierce pace. The housing market is starting to stall big-time, and Americans are less “safe” than before, many holding interest-only mortgages. Credit card issuers were written a blank check last Congress to come after borrowers, long after most issuers have recouped their losses several times over with interest and fees.

Americans get to wonder: am I killing my pet by choosing this pet food? Inspecting foodstuffs is government work, and we learn that manufacturers are using ingredients from abroad that are not properly scrutinized.

What’s “safe”?

He's trying to rile up the 30 percenters, but it will backfire with the moderates. Dumbass.

I saw that this morning as well. My first reaction was "why is he still in the running?" much in the same voice as when I see Tom Delay and I say "why are you not in jail yet?".

Sigh. He stole his entire speech from Bush's 2004 campaign writers. Bush should sue for plaigerism.
