Their Congressional approval ratings may be sagging, but Democrats in the House and Senate have overwhelmingly outraised their Republican counterparts in the past three months. In June, the Dem senatorial campaign committee raised $8.6 million vs. the Republicans' $3.3 million. Maybe they could throw a few thousand into our CliffSchecter.com fundraiser?
As Democrats seek to expand their narrow majority in the Senate, the party committee far exceeds the amount of money Republicans have at their disposal, reporting a cash-on-hand balance of $20.4 million with a debt of $4.5 million. The National Republican Senatorial Committee has reported a cash balance of $5.5 million with no debt. Here are some fun quotes from Chuck Schumer:
“The contributions reflect the broad pendulum in America, which is that things are swinging to the Democratic side,” said Senator Charles E. Schumer of New York, chairman of the Democratic senatorial committee...“In January, we thought [raising contributions for Senate candidates] would be our No. 1 problem, that it would suck everything up,” Mr. Schumer said. “But we’re close to double where we were two years ago.”We're ahead on the House side, too. Now, if some of the Dems could grow spines as well as they grow bank accounts, I could breathe a little easier.
But in the meantime, let me share the well-chosen words of a renowned redheaded mirth specialist from Westlake Village, CA, who shall remain anonymous, and I quote: "Neener nanner neener."

Anyone else see the event streamed by KPTK in Washington last night? It was a panel led by Thom Hartmann, and included the Young Turks, Stephanie Miller, Mike Malloy, and Ed Schultz.
CSPAN was there, so it should air this summer if you missed it.
Glad to hear the dems are bucks up. Maybe they'll be able to afford some really sneaky (Republican worthy sneaky) consultants to put them over the top in '08.
Oooh, if they streamed it, do they have it somewhere it can be replayed?
Good question, Gimme. All I can do is give you the link to the radio station site. And remember, CSPAN was there, so it will air on TV.
Here you go.
