Let's Make A Deal

Over at The Swampland, Mudcat Saunders, a Democratic consultant that works primarily in the South (Virginia Gov. Mark Warner and John Edwards are clients), criticizes Democrats for being too elite. He mostly takes shots at Northeastern liberals, calling them the "Metropolitan Opera Wing" of the Party.

I have bitched and moaned for years about the lack of tolerance in the elitist wing of the Democratic Party, or what I refer to as the "Metropolitan Opera Wing". These are the people who talk of tolerance but the only true tolerance they ever exhibit is for their own pseudo-intellectual arrogance.

First, I am sick and tired of Southerners attacking the Northeast. Lord knows if a Northern-based consultant called Saunders the leader of the "Trailer Park" wing of the Party, he'd go nuts (and rightly so). Here's a newsflash Mudcat, the Democrats control the House and Senate because of urban and Northeastern Dems, not Rural Dems. You exist because of us, so knock off the namecalling.

But I'll go one step further. If you really hate the Northeastern "Metropolitan opera" crowd, put your money where your mouth is and don't fundraise there. Don't have Edwards or any other of your candidates fundraise in the Northeast. Try to win with only southern money, I dare you. Yeah, thought so.

For all your blather about "Metropolitan Opera" Dems, you earn your living sucking off their teats. No candidate is viable nationwide without them, and I'm willing to bet that any Southern candidate that isn't self-financing also tries to wring money out of the Northeast. I can hear the fat lady singing, Mudcat, and she's about to bring their curtain down on your obnoxious and ill advised blogging career.
