Mitt Is Really Daniel Boone!

BC wrote about the latest Romney ridiculousness in an earlier post, and Steve Benen takes us the next step in Multiple Choice Mitt's latest identity crisis:

And Mitt Romney continues to struggle after having been caught fibbing about his experience as a hunter. “I’m not a big-game hunter. I’ve made that very clear,” he said. “I’ve always been a rodent and rabbit hunter. Small varmints, if you will. I began when I was 15 or so and I have hunted those kinds of varmints since then. More than two times.”
He hunted "varmints?" Who is he now, Yosemite Sam?

Maybe he ran over a squirrel with his limo once. Does that count?

I want to be the FIRST to assign Great White Mitt a nickname: Great White Mitt. He is, after all, very white, and a mighty mighty hunter - hence Great White Mitt.

Cliff, Gang, Democrats in general,

Careful...This is how we Democrats get the reputation as ivy league elitist types. I know you folks out there in the large metropolitian areas couldn't give a varmint's hindquarters about what happens to Dems out here in hinterlands but here in the PA-09th and other places, I'm certain; hunting and guns are like a downed power lines, touch them and ZAAAAP!!!

Squirrels and Rabbits are catagorized as varmints, Yosemite Sam references not withstsnding, that's what it reads on the hunting license, Varmints.

We've got a tough enough job ridding our Congressional district of a rubber stamp Neo-Con zombie like Bill Shuster (R-PA09)without you guys stirring up the NRA crowd any more than they are already.

so Lay-off the hillbilly jokes will ya? All they accomplish is upsetting moderates that those of Democrats out here in Elvis Country need to persuade. The GOP will cut Romney to ribbons soon enough, never fear.

and get out of the damn city every once in a while, there are Democrats out here too, ya know.

Or maybe he just was one of those ole crazies who took part in the September Dawn massacre. See the upcoming movie documenting how a band of renegade Mormons slaugthered over 100 non-believers.

Romney says he seldom needed a license when he went hunting

By Glen Johnson, Associated Press Writer | April 7, 2007

BOSTON --Officials in the four states where Mitt Romney has lived say the Republican presidential contender, who calls himself a lifelong hunter, never took out a license.
---
His staff refused Friday to provide details about his hunting history, including whose gun he used, with whom he hunted and whether he hunted in Utah as a college student or as an adult. He does not own a firearm, despite claiming to earlier this year.
---
Officials from Michigan, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, where a license is necessary to hunt such small game, said they could not immediately locate any license for Romney. An official in Utah said a change in state law last year blocked public access to license records.

The whole GOP has become a cartoon. Cheney's like a cranky Elmer Fudd, Dubya is Alfred E. Neuman, and now this.

Gov. Romney: "Ah'm the rootenist, tootenist, shootenist gunslinger in all Massy-choositts!"

In all fairness to Mitt, varmint hunting is hugely popular in Massachusetts. Really. See for your self: http://www.happyvalleynews.wordpress.com
