Well, if one steps into Republican 'logic', it is completely rational. We are fighting the terrorists in Iraq, so there is no way they will come over here and attack, thus we are safe from them.
Unions, however, besides being an institution of the pinko-communist-liberal-left, allow collective bargaining and take away decision making from the employer. Allowing decision making through democracy in businesses is, therefore, a greater threat than a Fundamentalist Muslim terrorist who has every desire to strike.
