Tom Schaller, a brilliant professor and friend, has a great takedown of the right-wing Headupitsassosphere also known as conservative blogs. Instaputz, as he rightfully calls that legal puke, is on the menu.

Go check it out and then buy yourself a copy of Tom's awesome new book (it makes a great Christmas present too) Whistling Past Dixie: How Democrats Can Win Without The South.

It is one of the best "strategery" books for Democrats I have read in years.

I saw Tom on CSpan (I think) and was very impressed with how he handled himself with the wingers who called in. Got the book on my list for the library.

Cold, snowy Fri here in IN.
Still no job. Gonna sell the cats
for furcoats here soon.

Sorry to hear about the no job Paddy. Keep at it and I hope something comes through.

Don't sell the cats, however tempting it is. My two keep me going sometimes. If you drink enough brandy you can also pretend they are talking back to you. That prescription takes care of the cold too, by the way.

I am heading out to Cincinnati again for the holidays, so you will have to warn me about what kind of weather I am in for.

Oh, and your roommate who was kind enough to miss me on tv, I will be back soon, just had to take a break post-election to spend family time. May the games begin again soon!

As for Tom. He is awesome. You'll love the book. He handles the wingers just as well in the book in fact.

Have fun, Bulldog!

I keep going through various gyrations (no, not those kind) to get Blogger to let me comment.

I'm not sure how I did it today, but I couldn't squander the opportunity to leave one for you after being allowed in for the first time in weeks.

Love to the Dougster. <3

Cliff, Mary Ellen or Fernando-
Someone please do me a favor and go over to my blog (www.sippingpicklejuice.blogspot.com) and leave a comment?

I've been changing some stuff over, and I want to make sure that the comment alert is working.

THANKS!!!

Ya know, if I talk about Johnny Mathis or sex, everyone wants to read my diaries. But if I do a serious diary (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/12/8/20312/3418) no one cares.
Oh well, go check it out Cliff.

Thank you Cliff, it worked!! (finally) You should check out the video of Danny Elfman (oingo boingo). Wonderful song.

Evan Bayh is a Midwest version of GW Bush, but with a bit more brains. Very corporate. He was a good governor, but someone has to convince me that he would be a GREAT president.

Cliff, are you referring to a post Schaller did somewhere, or just to his book?

avedon,

I meant to put in a link to the post. Oops. I got it in now. Thanks for bringing that up!

Gottalaff,

Thanks for commenting as always. And remembering my wonderful MSNBC nickname. We need to figure out a way that you can comment more often.

And paddy,

Glad the blog comments are working. I'll start coming around more often. And thanks for pushing Tom's book. He is great and it is great.

Thanks, Cliff, I was hoping you'd do that before my browser crashed and I lost track of what I wanted to read. ;)

Thanks Emphyrio!

I appreciate the compliment. I especially like being compared to the psycho in Fargo..hey if that's what it takes to beat Republicans :)

Seriously, thanks for the compliments, and please do keep coming back to visit!

Paddy

Sorry I haven't had a chance to get to your blog. I've been busy as hell with Christmas cooking, shopping and I need to leave town next weekend. Hopefully, after that I will have the time to read and comment on your blog. From what I've seen at a glance, it looks great and you've obviously put a lot of work into it.

In the meantime, hope you are successful with your job hunt. It's a bear to find any work at the end of the year. After the 1st, I'm sure something will come up. Keep your chin up, kiddo.

Cliff: Just so you don't feel bad...I love your blog, too. It's been great and I'll try to comment more once the holiday's are over. It's really crazy here...kids coming home and total chaos (I love it!). In the meantime, I'll check in from time to time to read what you are up to...keep up the good work!
