What in the world is this about?

Fitzgerald's Cover-Up

Fitzgerald's Cover-Up
It's time to hold the special prosecutor accountable.

Wednesday, April 4, 2007 12:01 a.m.

For a prosecutor who claims to be a truth-seeker, Patrick Fitzgerald sure can be secretive. Even now that the Scooter Libby trial is over and his "leak" investigation is all but closed, the unaccountable special counsel wants to keep his arguments for creating a Constitutional showdown over reporters and their sources under lock and key.

Okay, this is two days in a row I'm boggled. What is Fitzgerald covering up? I thought all those papers are kept sealed at the prosecutors discretion? 'Cause if that is NOT the way it is, someone better get working on getting Rove, Armitage etc Grand Jury transcripts.

I just don't understand what the WSJ is inferring.

Off to FireDogLake to ask around.
They should know.

Fitz' Grand Jury has collected a lot of testimony and only prosecuted Libby on a very narrow perjury charge.

The Libby defense tried to broaden the scope of the charges and force Fitz to reveal as much as possible.

So what's in those folders makes a lot of people nervous as does the fact Libby's June sentencing might be stiff and immediate enough to turn him.

"No Mr. Libby, you sit in Jail on appeal."

Over at FireDogLake, Marcy Wheeler said that she thinks it's all just smoke and mirrors trying to muddy the water before the Libby sentencing. Others think the WSJ is trying to intimidate Fitz, some think Fitz may now be looking into the RNC email & Rove connection.

Interesting stuff.

It's almost Dickensian, how everything ties in to everything else as the plots unfold.
