***BREAKING NEWS******
MSNBC SIMULCAST OF IMUS RADIO SHOW "SUSPENDED" FOR TWO WEEKS

2nd Update* CBS Suspends Imus For Same Amount Of Time *

MSNBC Statement

NBC News President Steve Capus released this statement late Monday:

“Beginning Monday, April 16, MSNBC will suspend simulcasting the syndicated
‘Imus in the Morning’radio program for two weeks. This comes after careful consideration in the days since his racist, abhorrent comments were made.

Don Imus has expressed profound regret and embarrassment and has made a commitment to listen to all of those who have raised legitimate expressions of outrage.

In addition, his dedication — in his words — to change the discourse on his program moving forward, has confirmed for us that this action is appropriate.

Our future relationship with Imus is contingent on his ability to live up to his word.”

My Previous Post About This

A Whole Lotta Hurt Coming Down On Imus

Damn. The man is in some serious trouble. This is the set up.
Briefly, he said some bad things. (unusual?)

Here is the video of said bad things.

Now he's gonna be taken to the woodshed by Al Sharpton,
and Rev Al don't care.

Imus Set for Sharpton's Radio Show

NEW YORK (AP) - Don Imus will appear on the Rev. Al Sharpton's radio show Monday, five days after Imus made racially charged comments on his own show about the Rutgers women's basketball team, Sharpton and MSNBC announced Sunday.

Despite Imus' scheduled appearance, Sharpton said his position was unchanged: He wants Imus fired and intends to write the Federal Communications Commission about the matter.

I confess to listening to his show. I leave it on in the other room and wait til a good guest comes on. He somehow gets incredible people to go on his stupid show. Wonder how this kerfluffle is playing with all the media his wife has lined up for the release of her new book this Tuesday?

I'm guessing old Don is sleeping out in the barn with the horses for a bit.

I have not watched Don Imus' s show since about a year ago when he made a rude remark on air about a network employee I happen to like. He is prone to this kind of behavior -- The Really Rude Putdown. There are plenty of talented people who could run a show like his and keep it clear of deliberate rudeness, so it might be time for him to retire.

Next assignment.

Boost ratings for whatever it is MSNBC puts on instead of Imus for the two weeks.

I've never been a fan of the man, so I rarely will watch his show.

I have to wonder if any clips of his show will show up where he is making fun of, or getting on Mel Gibson's case about the anti-semitic remarks he made when he was drunk?

I'm also not a fan of Mel's, but at least he was drunk...what was Imus' excuse...besides being an asshat?

I also think this excuse about Jesse Jackson making remarks or anyone else in the past, somehow makes Imus' remarks ok. How is racism EVER ok?

MSNBC is only giving him this suspension in hopes that this will die down. A slap on the wrist and before you know about it, Don Imus will be joking about the whole thing on the air.

Firing not enough...shouldn't this man receive the death penalty for this? We've gotta get that Cattle Ranch shut down too - no kid with cancer should be permitted to have a good time on this guy's buck. And that hospital in jersey that his wife is building - BOMBS AWAY!!

I confess to also watching Imus for the same reasons that Paddy does. He gets great guests, unscripted, for long periods of time. I can't stand the man - never could. No excuse for me.

I think what they've done is fair and long overdue. He goes for long periods "behaving" and then acts out like the child he is.

Its a shame - he and his wife do good work, but your judged on your latest action. I'm sure Deirdre is quite pissed.

And to our anonymous troll - welcome! And one thing has nothing to do with the other, freak boy.

Heh Gimme, you made me snort with the "freak boy".

I checked earlier, and Deidre Imus still has her book coming out tomorrow. I had heard that they were both supposed to be on the View some time this week. Bet that ain't happening.

I'd be suprised if ole Don makes it to 67..... the missus must be waaaay pissed.

Actually, Paddy, the View might let them on. They're not afraid of controversy as Rosie shows and it might boost their ratings, lol.

Let me know if you see tham and how it goes - williams1977@gmail.com
