In theory, the question is funny: is poop hazardous waste? However, this issue is before before Congress right now as the powerful agricultural lobby fights to exempt animal manure from generating Superfund liability.

As I see it, mega-corporate-farmers are upset that they are forced to spend some of their federal subsidy money to clean up their messes. And this drives me nuts: if you want billions of dollars in federal subsidies to grow (or not to grow your crops), you damn well need to spend a fraction of that money to clean up your messes.

Unfortunately, hiring lobbyists only metaphorically turns bullshit into hot air.
