Countdown On NBC
Countdown with Keith Olbermann is getting a tryout on NBC. The NYTimes reports, Countdown will air before NBC's broadcast of this Sunday's pre-season game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Says NBC SVP Phil Griffin, "The world has changed, and I think people have come in line with the smart, focused approach [Keith] has on the show."
In April, NBC announced Olbermann would be joining the roster of NBC's "Football Night in America" pregame show. And Griffin adds, "It may be the first of several times you see Olbermann on the network."

What time of day would he be on, exactly? (I'm not a football fan) It's good that he's doing the lead-in, but that may mean his biggest audience that day would be during the last few minutes of the show, which isn't his best.
Or not. I'll be interested to see the overnights (ratings) and the breakdown.

Laffy - the game starts at 8:00 pm eastern on Sunday. I may actually not get to see it on my local channel because of a pre-game shoe, but I'm hoping.

Okay, so that means that he'd be on at 7 pm eastern, 4 pm Pacific. Wait, unless there's that pre-game show, right?
So he'd be on, what, an hour earlier than that? Is the pre-game thing an hourlong show?
If that's correct, then I'm guessing the viewership won't be that strong, due to the time slot. A Sunday evening at dinner time for the east, and mid-day Sunday out here.
Hmmmm. But at least he's on, and it's network, and that's major.
So, a cautious "YAY!"
I don't care. Keith on network means I get to watch on my TV, on the Spokane channel feed to my cable. Beyond deleriously happy.

Newshole says the show is on at 7pm EST. Yippee-ki-ay... you all know the rest of that.
I hope they leave him alone and let him just do his thing. It would really be wonderful if he could reach a larger audience undiluted.
