David Gregory: The Next Don Imus?

"NBC and CBS' WFAN radio are looking at NBC News White House correspondent David Gregory as their next Don Imus," Variety reports. "Sources said NBC is considering Gregory as a permanent replacement for Imus on MSNBC and that the network is in talks with WFAN on a deal to simulcast the show."

Way to take a stand for variety there MSNBC.

Ugh is right, Paddy. I was just thinking this morning that I actually like 'Morning Joe' with Scarborough in that slot. They had an excellent, very balanced, upbeat and amusing interview this morning with Hillary I was thinking I should share that with MSNBC and now I read this.

The last thing they need is that snarky, towel-snapping insider Gregory.

Isn't this the same guy who kept pissing off Bush and friends at the white house press meetings? And he always seemed a welcome break from Chris Matthews when he took over Hardball now and then. Guess I'm missing something. I know he said something disparaging about bloggers, but geeze. He doesn't seem all bad. And Scarborough?! Jesus.
