Not a good day for Beltway Insiders

First Glenn Greenwald takes on the "Left Wing Media" (ha!) giggle fest on the Chris Matthews show this past weekend over the Prosecutor Purge...

Here are several of our media elites from our nation's most influential journalistic outlets -- including from Time, U.S. News & World Report, The New York Times, and NBC News -- all sitting around on the Chris Matthew Show giggling for three and a half minutes straight about the silly U.S. attorneys scandal.
The whole thing is just a fun game for them, and it's ludicrous to them that anyone could take things like this seriously.

And what is most notable is that they express outrage at one part, and one part only, in this story -- namely, they are furious over the fact that the foolish, unfair Democrats would even dare to try to force Karl Rove to testify.

Then Smokin' Tim Dickinson puts the hurt on the entrenched "Democratic Consultants" of the Beltway......

Working behind the scenes, these top-tier operatives humiliated Mike Dukakis in a tank, muzzled Al Gore on the environment and portrayed John Kerry -- a lifelong crusader for gun control -- as a rifle-toting Rambo. Year after year they have made sure that the Democratic message comes across as little more than a fuzzy, focus-grouped drone about child tax credits, prescription-drug plans and the "fight for working families."

Maybe 'cause Cliff isn't feeling well, or just because I can, I'll tell the major reason I admire Cliff- Authenticity. Yeah, he can sling a mean metaphor and he's pretty good at being fiesty yet keeping his cool, but you can tell if you were having the discussion with him at a bar, he'd be the same. You can't fake authenticity (i.e. H Clintons' "chat" announcement) and you can't supress authenticity (Kerry not responding to the swift boaters) to anyones advantage.

Except, it seems, the advantage of Beltway Democratic Consultants pockets.

I watched Matthews show and it was pretty lame.

They acted like this was no big deal.
