Ugh!!!! That asshat, Broder, has no business calling himself a journalist. These guys don't know the meaning of journalistic integrity. He should be drummed out of the journalistic community.

It just makes me sick when I see what the GOP has done to damage the image of journalists. They've managed to take the one thing that Americans should be proud of, our freedom of the press, and turned it into a propaganda machine for the right.

Ugh....what a way to start the morning.

Sorry mary ellen. It almost made me explode too, and then I decided Olliver Willis said most of what I wanted to say.

Needless to say, the fact that this man has any respect in the journalistic community anymore says what kind of environment we're in.

Much like Bob Woodward, just because you were a trailblazer in the 70s doesn't mean that if you're now a sellout and a hack, that we should close our eyes and ignore it.

I still find it hard to believe that someone that calls himself a journalist would have such a problem with noticing legitimate differences in people with different ideologies.

In my casual observance over the years, I've noticed that Democrats/Liberals are far less openly patriotic than Republican/Conservatives. Liberals tend not to fly flags at every opportunity, wear lapel pins and just gush about it all the time - if you know what I mean. It reminds me of the difference between mainstream Catholics, Protests and Jews vs evangelicals and other conservative faiths. Mainstreams just don't go around testifying and flagellating all the time. Which is why John Kerry looked so god-awful uncomfortable in black and mega churches.

If you get a bunch of Dems in a room you'll get rote flag waving but very little Lee Greenwood and Toby Keith.

I'm just a IT girl from South Jersey. How come the big, bad Broder can't see that?

I wanted to be him once. In the 70's after I read All the President's Men. It pains me to see what he's become. Alot of them have thrown themselves under the bus.

My daughter is a journalist...well, she just graduated and is looking for a job, but nonetheless, she is disgusted by the bad rap that journalists are getting because of this crowd.

When we walked out of my daughters graduation last December, there was a Fox News truck parked outside the building. It made my stomach turn...kind of reminded me of a bunch of predators coming in to grab what they can. Sick.

Thank goodness I raised my kid to think for herself and to put honor and integrity first.

I wish your daughter the best. Its pretty obvious that we need a new crop of journalists with integrity. I remember a post that you had before about your daughter and seem to remember that her professors were good.

We can only hope for the new generation as the bulk of those in the media with big megaphones today have been corrupted by power and ego. Just look at this Libby thing - disgusting - and all the big names are involved.
